Curt Barnes, Esq.


Curt Barnes, Esq. brings decades of global legal experience to Pacific West Law, where he serves as President, Co-Director, and Head of Legal Notary Services. Admitted to legal practice in New South Wales in 1976, Mr. Barnes has since expanded his credentials across Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom, including admission to the California Bar and membership in the British Bar Council.
Specializing in insurance coverage and litigation, Mr. Barnes co-chairs the firm’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group and leads the First Party and Subrogation Teams. His practice spans complex claims involving first- and third-party coverage, wills and inheritance matters, risk management, and indemnity disputes. He has successfully litigated cases across Australia, the U.S., the U.K., and Ireland.
Mr. Barnes is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) and DRI, actively contributing to their insurance law committees. He also lectures on First Party Insurance Law and legal ethics at Imperial College London School of Law.
